Static's Visual Basic Tutorials
Hello! And welcome to my Visual Basic tutorials! I am not one for making big introductions so let me get right into the tutorials. Just so you know Visual Basic only works on Windows and can only be developed on Windows
Tutorial List:
Tutorial #1--Setting Up(Below)
Tutorial #2--Starting a new project(Coming soon!)
Tutorial #1--Setting Up
You need to first download Visual Basic 2010 it is completely free and easy to set up! All you have to do is run the msi.
Now that you have downloaded your IDE you must open a new project. In order to do this we open out IDE. You should see the start screen. Now just look around a bit and come back when you are ready to finish setting up.
Now that you have played around and hit some buttons, I'm sure you have noticed the "New Project" button. If you haven't it can be found right under where it says "Microsoft Visual Basic 2010 Express". Now press this button, you should get a new window that is labeled "New Project", this window has a couple of text boxes and a bunch of application choices. You will read about how to start coding in the next tutorial, but before you continue on to it I suggest you open up a project and just get used to the environment you will be working in. In some ways it is very much like eclipse with the help and drop down menu or whatever you want to call it.
